Waiting On Wednesday

Today, I’m participating in Waiting on Wednesday, a weekly event hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine. This event highlights the upcoming releases that we are eagerly awaiting!

Today, I am waiting for…

Love and Leftovers by Sarah Tregay (December 27, 2011 by HarperCollins Children’s Books)

Adorable title and cover! I absolutely love the shoes…I’m intrigued.

Check out this Goodreads summary:

When her parents split, Marcie is dragged from Idaho to a family summerhouse in New Hampshire. She leaves behind her friends, a group of freaks and geeks called the Leftovers, including her emo-rocker boyfriend, and her father.

By the time Labor Day rolls around, Marcie suspects this “vacation” has become permanent. She starts at a new school where a cute boy brings her breakfast and a new romance heats up. But understanding love, especially when you’ve watched your parents’ affections end, is elusive. What does it feel like, really? can you even know it until you’ve lost it?

Love and Leftovers is a beautifully written story of one girl’s journey navigating family, friends, and love, and a compelling and sexy read that teens will gobble up whole.

This sounds like a fantastic contemporary YA read! I love books that tackle multiple issues and it sounds like this one has a little bit of everything- boys, family and friends!

What are you anxiously waiting for this Wednesday?

  1. Definitely sounds like a book teens would enjoy — especially if they were struggling through their parents’ divorce. Very cute cover, too!

  2. I’ve been really looking forward to reading Love and Leftovers as well for basically the same reasons you are! And I have to say, the cover is adorable too. Great pick! 🙂
