2012 Debut Author Challenge

Once again, this year I am participating in the 2012 Debut Author Challenge hosted by Kristi of The Story Siren.

Here are a few details and rules from Kristi’s blog:

CHALLENGE OBJECTIVE:

  • To read & review a minimum of twelve young adult or middle grade debut novels between the dates of January 1, 2012 – January 31, 2013.*

*The 2013 extension is so that December Debuts can be read and count toward the challenge.

RULES & GUIDELINES:

  • You must have a Blog to post your reviews or be a member of Goodreads.
  • Your blog must be written in English.
  • Deadline to join is May 31, 2012.

BOOK GUIDELINES:

  • Must be a young adult or middle grade title.
  • Must be the author’s YA or MG debut, released in 2012.
  • If an author has a previous novel published for adults or children, they can still qualify for the challenge.
  • If an author has a previous YA or MG title, they do not qualify for the challenge.
There are SO many 2012 debuts that I’m looking for, and this list will continue to grow throughout the year, but in the meantime, here are a few of the books I’m planning on reading toward the challenge:

Love and Leftovers by Sarah Tregay
Where It Began by Ann Redisch Stampler
The Queen Of Kentucky by Alecia Whitaker
The Stalker Chronicles by Carley Moore
My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick
Seeing Cinderella by Jenny Lundquist
Meant To Be by Lauren Morrill

Will you be joining in the challenge? Leave a link to your list or let me know what you’re most excited to read in 2012!

  1. Hi Jessica,
I’m thrilled to find Where It Began on your 2012 Debut Author Challenge list. Thanks so much for including it! And very good luck with your novel.
    Ann

  2. I love this challenge so much especially for exposing me to so many new, awesome titles. Although I kind of suck in actually getting ahold of books in the year of their release and then also posting reviews for them so I’ve decided to pass up on the challenge for another year. Good Luck Though 🙂
