In My Mailbox (48)

In My Mailbox, started by Kristi from The Story Siren is an awesome weekly meme to post what books we’ve received this week; whether it was sent for review from a publisher, purchased at a book store, borrowed from the library, or won from a giveaway.

So remember last week when I told you how excited I was to dress up as a ballerina and run a Halloween-themed 5K? And when I promised I’d share photos? Yeah…about that. Remember when the East Coast was slammed with a freak October snow storm yesterday and I STILL managed to run a 5K and achieve my best time yet?! Yep, that happened! Pictures of soggy ballerinas to follow below…but for now, onto the books!

From the library:

Forget You by Jennifer Echols: After reading LOVE STORY by Jennifer Echols, I’ve been told that I need to read all of her other books ASAP, starting with this one. I put it on reserve at the library months ago and it finally came in!

From NetGalley:

The Unbearable Book Club for Unsinkable Girls by Julie Schumacher: This book is about a mother/daughter book club in which something goes terrible wrong. Clearly, I’m into this book.

Don’t You Wish by Roxanne St. Clair: This one is about a plain, normal girl who thanks to one of her dads inventions gets zapped into someone popular and fabulous. Definitely sounds like a fun read.

And now the pictures you’ve all been waiting for:

Before the 5K. Just channeling our inner gracefulness.
After the 5K...drenched, freezing and covered in flurries but still feeling pretty triumphant!

What’s in your mailbox today? And Happy Halloween!

  1. I have those two on netgalley as well, but I haven’t started them yet cos I have a huge pile on netgalley.

  2. OMG, the run take place during that horrible storm? And you did so well? Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 That’s fantastic! FORGET YOU is the book I like best from Echols. I like the title of THE UNBEARABLE BOOK CLUB FOR UNSINKABLE GIRLS! DON’T YOU WISH sounds cute!

  3. Forget You is so wonderful, you need to read Going Too Far as well, that is my favorite of her books. Enjoy all your books! And that is awesome – I could never do a 5k, i can barely do 1k.

  4. I just read a Jennifer Echols book this week – The Ex-Games! It was too fun! I love her books and did you hear she will also be writing adult novels too. I can’t wait!

I looks like you had fun during your 5k – even with the snow! Congrats on your accomplishments, I know you must be so proud of yourself (I know I would be).

  5. YAY, FORGET YOU!! It’s amazing! And after you read that, you must read Going Too Far. 😀
