Start Your Week Right Sunday: Links and Goals

start your week right- Jessica Lawlor
Photo of the week: Philadelphia’s beautiful City Hall on a crisp, early spring day. Snapped this photo on my way to a meeting.

Start your week right! Every Sunday I post my favorite links from around the web and share my goals for the upcoming week.

Links

On Blogging:

8 Ways Blogging Can Boost Your Career: It’s no secret that I’m a big advocate for blogging. In my first post for CareerMeh, I share 8 ways blogging can actually boost your career (seriously).

Blogging Resources from Alicia at Jaybird: I’m honored to be included on Alicia’s super robust blogging resources page. I can’t wait to check out all the other links/tools!

On Goal Setting:

The Power of Small Goals: Big goals are great, but small goals can be even better sometimes. Photographer and one of my  favorite bloggers Caroline Winn explains the power of setting (and achieving) small goals.

On Writing:

The Awful Truth About Writing For Others: My friend and talented copywriter Sara Frandina has finally launched her blog with this honest post about making time for yourself and your own brand, even when working with multiple clients.

On Life:

How To Get Yourself Out Of A Slump: If you’ve ever been in a slump, you know how terrible it can feel. This smart ooomf post by Andrea Ayres details the scientific reasoning behind slumps (fascinating stuff!) and how you can pull yourself out of one.

On Decision-Making:

Don’t Make Decisions From a Place of Fear: Ashley Brooks shares an important reminder about decision-making: don’t do it from a place of fear. I definitely needed to read this post this week!

This Week on JessicaLawlor.com:

Developing Your Personal Brand: Tactical Tips for Using a Blog To Stand Out From The Crowd: My single best piece of advice for those seeking new career or personal opportunities is to start a blog. Here are ways you can use a blog to develop your personal brand.

Goals

  • Finish up a couple of articles for a big freelancing assignment for one of my alma mater’s alumni publications.
  • Run at least 3-4 times this week. I’m not proud of my Broad Street Run training so far, including skipping my 7-mile training run due to so much rain, so I need to get back on track.
  • Begin planning for my new video series on the blog- I’ve decided since I’m often uncomfortable in front of the camera, the only way to improve is to force myself to do it even more. Stay tuned!

Have any links or goals you’d like to share? Leave them in the comments!
