In My Mailbox, started by Kristi from The Story Siren is an awesome weekly meme to post what books we’ve received this week; whether it was sent for review from a publisher, purchased at a book store, borrowed from the library, or won from a giveaway.
Sigh…it’s been an entire week since my fabulous spa experience and I am SO wishing I were back in my fluffy yellow robe eating Hershey Kisses by the handful, but alas, I am back in Philly. However, I have some two great books to show you this week, so it’s not all bad news! Besides the books I got this week, my bookshelf is REALLY getting out of control (in a good way, of course) so I have lots of reading to get done before 2011 ends.
For Review:
The Other Life by Ellen Meister: In this book, whenever the main character has to make a big decision, she can see into an alternate reality in which she makes the opposite choice. Um, I wish I had that power!
Purchased:
The Legacy Letters by Tuesday’s Children: I bought this one back in September but forgot to share it. This book is a collection of letters written by those who lost loved ones in 9/11. I already read a few pages while standing in line to pay and almost started bawling, so I had to stop. This will be an emotional, but important read.

I want to go to the spa!!! The Legacy Letters sounds really touching and heartbreaking. I can’t imagine what it’s like to read those letters. I’d probably bawl like a baby within the first 2 pages, lol.
My friend just got The Legacy Letters and said it was an emotional read. I don’t know how she was able to get through it. I don’t think my heart is strong enough. I can’t wait for your thoughts.

Have you ever seen the film “Frequency”? I looked up “The Other Life” on Goodreads, and the plot of it reminds me quite a bit of that movie, as well as the film “Sliding Doors”. It sounds interesting.
