Waiting On Wednesday

Today, I’m participating in Waiting on Wednesday, a weekly event hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine. This event highlights the upcoming releases that we are eagerly awaiting!

Today, I am waiting for…

The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith (January 2, 2012 by Poppy)

Check out this Goodreads summary:

Today should be one of the worst days of seventeen-year-old Hadley Sullivan’s life. She’s stuck at JFK, late to her father’s second wedding, which is taking place in London and involves a soon to be step-mother that Hadley’s never even met. Then she meets the perfect boy in the airport’s cramped waiting area. His name is Oliver, he’s British, and he’s in seat 18B. Hadley’s in 18A.

Twists of fate and quirks of timing play out in this thoughtful novel about family connections, second chances and first loves. Set over a 24-hour-period, Hadley and Oliver’s story will make you believe that true love finds you when you’re least expecting it.

I LOVE the idea of this book; first of all, I adore books that take place over a 24 hour period. I’m always so impressed when an author can tell a full story in such a short period of time. Second, the idea of meeting your true love in an airport? Precious. I can’t wait to see Hadley and Oliver (Cute! British! Yes!) fall in love. Plus, the plot of this KIND OF reminds me of the final book in the Jessica Darling series, PERFECT FIFTHS, by Megan McCafferty (which also takes place in an airport over a short period of time) and that makes me want to read this book RIGHT.NOW. Can’t wait until January!

What are you anxiously waiting for this Wednesday?

  1. I’m looking forward to this one as well. I absolutely love the title. I decided I wanted to read it just based on that without every reading the description (okay, I did read the blurb too and thought it sounded good).

  2. This sounds excellent and I immediately thought of Perfect Fifths too. I’m putting it on my wishlist. Since it comes out around Christmas, maybe I will have some left over gift cards to get it then. Until then, I will be waiting right along with you!
