In My Mailbox (30)

In My Mailbox, started by Kristi from The Story Siren is an awesome weekly meme to post what books we’ve received this week; whether it was sent for review from a publisher, purchased at a book store, borrowed from the library, or won from a giveaway.

This week I went to an AMAZING book sale. I always rave and rave about my local library’s book sale, but the sale today was even more awesome because it was the last sale of the year before the summer begins. Because it was the last sale of the year, you could pay $5 for a book and stuff as many books as possible in the bag. I searched the shelves high and low for almost an hour trying to find as many great books as I could. I think I did pretty well!

From the book sale:

Prom by Laurie Halse Anderson
Big Love by Sarah Dunn
Hypocrite in a Pouffy White Dress by Susan Jane Gilman
Playing With The Boys by Liz Tigelaar
Bookends by Jane Green
Dreamland by Sarah Dessen
Keeping the Moon by Sarah Dessen
How to Be Bad by E. Lockhart, Sarah Mlynowski and Lauren Myracle
The Summer of Naked Swim Parties by Jessica Anyo Blau
Elegance by Kathleen Tessaro
The Washingtonienne by Jessica Cutler
The Man of My Dreams by Curtis Sittenfeld

  1. Yes, indeed, you did very well. Many great books. I enjoyed reading How to Be Bad by E. Lockhart, Sarah Mlynowski and Lauren Myracle. Very fun. Hope you will enjoy it too. Happy Reading.

  2. It’s been a while, but I really liked Bookends. It reminded me of the TV show “Friends.” Lots of good stuff there — I’m afraid to go to my library book sale — that would probably be bad for my TBR pile! But I donate a lot to it….

  3. What! This sale looks like it was amazing. PS: Update your pic to show off your cute bangs! They looked so adorable on you 🙂

@Anna, Aw, thanks love! I honestly haven’t been wearing them down too often since it’s so hot yet. I’ve been pinning them back. I think I’ll bring back the bangs in the fall 🙂

  4. I would definitely say you did pretty good! I think the only one of these I’ve read is The Man of My Dreams. I did enjoy it, but think it’s probably the weakest out of all of Curtis Sittenfeld’s books.

  5. Wow these look great! 🙂 I am a new follower and I look forward to reading a bit about how your book is coming along and your reviews and such 🙂 Keeping the Moon by Sarah Dessen has really caught my eye!

  6. The Summer of Naked Swim Parties is crazy good. A bit messed up, but so worth it. If you haven’t read it yet, you might want to move it near the top of the TBR pile. I’ve been wanting to read How to Be Bad. I think it will be a fun read. You’ve got some great books and from a library book sale. I think you may have tweeted about it this week (if you didn’t someone did), so I stopped by my library because they always have a sale going on. (like I need any more books). Unfortunately the selection was pretty lacking.

Enjoy your reads and thanks for stopping by my blog. I hope you party yesterday was a lot of fun (twitter-stalking, haha)!

  7. Ahh, I love Dreamland! One of my favourite Sarah Dessen books. It breaks my heart everytime. Hope you enjoy them all!

  8. These seem like some great reads! Thanks for sharing. I’d love if you’d check out my IMM too 🙂

Btw, I’m loving the blog. I’m not sure if we’re fellow followers, but I follow you!

Looking forward to hearing back from you,

  9. I’m going to come visit so I can 1) see your face and 2) go to your amazing library sales! You always score such amazing books!

@Tara, I am totally down for number 1 and 2! Although you’ll have to wait til the fall now since the book sales shut down for the summer 🙂
