Photo of the week: The cutest little street in all of Philadelphia. Green Street in Fairmount is so picturesque.

Start your week right! Every Sunday I post my favorite links from around the web and share my goals for the upcoming week.

Links

On Apologies:

Stop Peeing Apologies Down Your Leg: Instead of Saying “I’m Sorry,” Say “THANK YOU”: YES. Forever using this piece of advice from Ash Ambirge at The Middle Finger Project. No more apologies! Instead of saying, “Sorry for the delay in responding to your email,” I’m replacing it with “Thanks so much for your patience here!”

On Blogging:

The Ultimate Guide to Marketing Your Next Blog Post: Save this. Pin this. Read it three times. This new-to-me blogger, Amanda Cross, rocks it out with this ultimate guide to marketing your next blog post.

On Happiness:

It’s About The Practice (Not Pursuit) Of Happiness: Is happiness a skill that needs to be practiced? Jen Lim explores the topic in this insightful ThoughtCatalog piece.

On Marketing:

How To: Create a Stellar Swipe File to Boost Your Marketing: When you create something awesome online, naturally, you want to share it with the world. Creating a swipe file allows you to let your network and community help share your message, too. One Woman Shop excels at this and they’ve detailed how they do it on their blog.

On Social Media:

Here’s What Brands Need to Know About Facebook Live: If you work in social media or marketing, you should already know that Facebook Live is the latest livestreaming app to hit the mainstream. I wrote primer about it for Scribewise.

On Public Relations:

Being a Solo PR Pro is Different from Doing PR In-House: Six years of doing PR in-house. Four months of doing PR solo. SO many major differences. I detail them all in a post for my one of my favorite PR blogs, Spin Sucks.

This Week on JessicaLawlor.com:

Becoming CEO: Month Four of Solopreneurship: In the Becoming CEO series, I detail how I’m starting and running my own solo biz. Here are reflections (and an income breakdown) from month four.

One Year of Teaching Yoga: Milestones, Gifts, Lessons and Gratitude: One year ago, I taught my very first yoga class and my entire life and career trajectory changed before my eyes. Here are some reflections on the true gift that is being a teacher.

Goals

  • Start getting my Pinterest account in order. After an awesome and super useful call with Jess from Jess Creatives, I’ve set a goal this summer to revamp my Pinterest account. I haven’t paid enough attention to this social media site and there’s SO much more I can be doing.
  • Continue my working out trend. I had a great mix last week of T25, running and yoga and I’d like to keep this going in the week ahead.
