Waiting On Wednesday

Today, I’m participating in Waiting on Wednesday, a weekly event hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine. This event highlights the upcoming releases that we are eagerly awaiting!

Today, I am waiting for…

The Catastrophic History of You & Me by Jess Rothenberg (January 17, 2012 by Dial)

Adorable cover, cute title and a blurb from Lauren Oliver? I’m 100 percent in!

Check out this Goodreads summary:

BRIE’S LIFE ENDS AT SIXTEEN: Her boyfriend tells her he doesn’t love her, and the news breaks her heart””literally.

But now that she’s D&G (dead and gone), Brie is about to discover that love is way more complicated than she ever imagined. Back in Half Moon Bay, her family has begun to unravel. Her best friend has been keeping a secret about Jacob, the boy she loved and lost””and the truth behind his shattering betrayal. And then there’s Patrick, Brie’s mysterious new guide and resident Lost Soul . . . who just might hold the key to her forever after.

With Patrick’s help, Brie will have to pass through the five stages of grief before she’s ready to move on. But how do you begin again, when your heart is still in pieces?

This book just sounds REALLY good. I am so intrigued by Brie needing to go through the five stages of grief, even though she’s already gone. This just sounds like a unique concept that I haven’t seen before in a YA book.

What are you anxiously waiting for this Wednesday?

  1. Hey. Great pick 🙂 I don’t usally read YA contemporary but this has a lil paranormal element in it, doesn’t it? Sounds really good.

  2. I’m looking forward to this one too – it seems like a different take on the 5 stages of grief. Plus the cover is very eye-catching!

  3. I’m really looking forward to reading this one as well! It sounds like it has such a unique premise. Plus the cover is awesome as well.
