In My Mailbox (19) + Amazing Book Sale Finds

In My Mailbox, started by Kristi from The Story Siren is an awesome weekly meme to post what books we’ve received this week; whether it was sent for review from a publisher, purchased at a book store, borrowed from the library, or won from a giveaway.

This week, all my my books came from my local library’s book sale. My library has a book sale every month, and since I went last month, I figured they couldn’t have gotten too many new books in since then. Oh how wrong I was! Thank goodness I decided to pop in just to check because I found SIX fabulous books that I am really excited about. Oh, and I only spent $12.  How awesome is that? Remember, book sales are a wonderful way to support your local library!

Purchased from book sale:

Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah: My mom is OBSESSED with this book and tried to get me to read it over the summer when she took it out of the library. Now we have our own copy, so I’ll definitely get around to reading this at some point soon.

If You Lived Here You’d Be Home Now by Claire LaZebnik: I took this  book out of the library a few weeks ago, but when I saw it at the book sale, I knew I had to grab it to add to my collection.

Sloppy Firsts by Megan McCafferty: Many of you have read and loved the Jessica Darling series, as have I. I was so thrilled to see this at the book sale because now I can continue looking for the rest of the series to make sure I have the whole collection on my shelf.

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins: SIGH. I give in. When everyone obsessed over this series, I swore I wouldn’t give in, but when I saw the book sitting there for just $2, I decided I had to give it a try.

Some Day My Prince Will Come (True Adventures of a Wannabe Princess) by Jerammy Fine: I love memoirs and this one sounds super cute/hilarious. Plus, it got a blurb from Jen Lancaster who is one of my favorite authors!

I Heart New York by Lindsay Kelk: When I saw the review for this book on Write Meg! a few months back, I knew I’d want to check this out. I love reading  books about the big city, so I’m looking forward to this one.

  1. Firefly Lane is a great read. It has a permanent place on my “Recommend” list. I bought I Heart New York on my Kindle and it’s on my 2011 Must Read list. The Jessica Darling series is good. I have books four and five to read, but I’ve enjoyed reading the series. Enjoy your new books. $12 for 6 books is a fantastic bargain!

  2. Wow! You got some great deals, and some of my favorites too!! 🙂 I need to pick up the Jessica Darling series and I still need to read a Claire LaZebnik book. You will devour the Hunger Games series, I promise. If you can’t get the 2nd one in the series I would be happy to let you borrow it… trust me, you’ll want it RIGHT AWAY . Happy reading. 🙂

    1. @Amber, I can’t believe I haven’t read the series yet! I hope I like them…if you liked them, I kind of have a feeling I might too!
