Kindle vs. Nook

I swore to myself up and down that I’d never consider an E-Reader. I love my precious books, sitting proudly on my bookshelf, ready to passed around from friend to friend.

But then, as I prepared for vacation in May, I started toying with the idea of an E-Reader as I struggled to choose which books to bring with me in my carry-on bag.

Since then, I’d sort of forgotten about my E-Reader dilemma because I haven’t been on any extended vacations or been in a situation where I couldn’t just throw a book in my purse.

But now, my mom seriously wants an E-Reader. For the past few Christmases, she keeps saying, “I can’t believe you haven’t asked for a Kindle! You’re such a bookworm, it’s right up your alley!” and I’ve always been adamant that I’m perfectly content with my “old school” view of reading. However, I’ve had this niggling feeling in the back of my mind that having an E-Reader would be kind of cool…

So, with all that said, my mom wants to buy an E-Reader. I’m excited for her to get one because it gives me a chance to try one out before I decide if I’d like to make the switch to an E-Reader as well. However, I want to help my mom make the best decision about which one to get, so I ask you….

Kindle vs. Nook

I figured, who better to help with my E-Reader dilemma and research than this fab community of bookworms like me?

Do you have an E-Reader? Why or why not? If you have one, which brand do you prefer? What are some of the pros and cons?
