Book Sale Goodies

I’ve worked at my job at a community center in my town for 5 years now and have not once taken advantage of the book sale room that is open at least once a week during the school year.

Last night, while bored at work, I wandered into the book sale room expecting to find old, dusty books that nobody in their right mind would want to read.

WRONG!

I browsed the room for about an hour and found 6 wonderful little books that I’ve been wanting to read!

I’m now the proud owner of:

Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin
Baby Proof by Emily Giffin
Me and Mr. Darcy by Alexandra Potter
I Do (But I Don’t) by Cara Lockwood
Lucy Sullivan Is Getting Married by Marian Keyes
True Love (And Other Lies) by Whitney Gaskell

I’ve read the Giffin books before, but am happy to own them and re-read at some point. I’ve heard great things about Me and Mr. Darcy. I’ve always looked at the covers of Marian Keyes’s books, but I’ve never read one. Lockwood and Gaskell are completely new to me, but I’m very excited to read them. Have you read any of these books? Thoughts?

Oh, and guess how much I paid for each book?

$1.50

That’s right, $1.50.

I purchased 6 books for $9.00. It doesn’t get much better than that! I’m definitely going to be checking out this book sale and other ones near my town way more often to find some great book deals.

Have you found any great books lately at flea markets or book sales? Where do you find books for extremely low prices?

  1. OMG, that is one amazing haul!!! The price is mindblowing and you got such great books too, I love Emily Giffin, Marian Keyes and Alexandra Potter! Lucky you & happy reading! 🙂

  2. I am a big fan of Keyes and Gaskell and have enjoyed Lockwood too. Based on the other books you seem to like you I think you'll enjoy all of them!

  3. That is awesome! I'm a big fan of buying used books on Amazon. Usually the shipping cost more than the actual book!

  4. Wow, looks like you got lucky there! I hope you enjoy the Keyes book. I haven't read that one yet, but I've really really *really* liked her other books that I've read.

  5. Yay — you did great! My local library has a Saturday book sale and I've found some great books there, but I haven't stopped by in a while. The sales are held at a branch about a half hour from my house, and it's hard for me to get motivated to be up early to drive down there on Saturdays — even for books! 🙂

I loved Something Borrowed but didn't really care for Me & Mr. Darcy, but I'll look forward to seeing your thoughts on it! 🙂 I have a few books by Marian Keyes on my bookshelves but haven't read any of them yet. Hopefully soon!

  6. I love Emily Griffin and have read Something Borrowed, along with the next one in that series. I just real her book Love the One You're With and also loved it. What a great deal!
