Booking Through Thursday

Today, I’m participating in Booking Through Thursday!

Today’s question is: What’s the best book you’ve read recently?

Easy question! Hands down, the best book I’ve read recently is Twenties Girl by Sophie Kinsella (review coming soon!).

I’ve always loved Kinsella’s writing, and I was hoping that Twenties Girl would be no exception. I was a little nervous because the summary I read online sounded a little strange but it definitely did not disappoint. Lara, the main character was absolutely adorable; she was quirky and hilarious. I honestly laughed out loud at several parts of the book and was thrilled with the heartwarming ending.

More to come in my review!

  1. I totally agree with what you said about the Twenties Girl (my review here) – I was a little worried too after reading the summary, but the book was absolutely fantastic! It was my most anticipated novel of the year, but I'm afraid that the crown for the best book I've read this year goes to Wintergirls – that book simply blew my mind!

  2. Amber (Girl with the red hair)

Couldn't agree more! Twenties Girl was fantastic and I definitely did not think it would be as good as it was because it was a "ghost story". Sophie Kinsella never fails to amaze me with her awesome writing!

  3. The best book I've read recently was The World In Half by Cristina Henriquez. It is the story about a girl wanting to learn more about her family history. She travels to Panama to find her father. The book is really well written and has a shocking ending. I strongly recommend it! 🙂

  4. My Sisters Keep was my semi-recent favorite book! I literally cried while reading the last couple of chapters! The story structure was great! I didn't get a chance to see the movie but I can image that it would be as good as the book!

  5. A Little Pink...

I agree! Definitely one of her better books outside of the Shopaholic series! 🙂 Lovin' the blog!! Thanks for the tip on Booking to Thursday! I'm going to check it out!

  6. Small Gods by Terry Pratchett. Part of the discworld series. Philosophical without being pedantic, funny without being silly, and action-packed without being dumb. Great book.
