start your week right- Jessica Lawlor
Photo of the week: An absolutely gorgeous spring day at Peddler’s Village. Reminds me of this beautiful quote: “That is one good thing about this world…there are always sure to be more springs.” -Anne of Green Gables

Start your week right! Every Sunday I post my favorite links from around the web and share my goals for the upcoming week.

Links

On Not Being Okay:

Instagram account of University of Pennsylvania Runner Showed Only Part of Story: Warning: this is a very heavy, but important read. When Madison Holleran took her own life last year, on Instagram, her life looked amazing, but inside told a very different story. This piece, written by ESPN’s Kate Fagan dives into not only Madison’s story, but also why we can’t believe everything we see on social media. I’ve seen this post shared on Facebook all weekend and want to encourage everyone to give it a read to understand this important message- it’s okay to not be okay.

On Social Media:

A Day In The Life Of Pinterest: On a much lighter social media note, this LOL-worthy read by Monica Heisey details a day in the life of “Pinterest.” Just read this and giggle.

On Calendars and Scheduling:

How to Cleanse Your Calendar & Life: Part 1 (The Easy Part): Yes, yes, yes. This is exactly what I need. Alexandra Franzen is publishing a series on how to cleanse your calendar and get rid of the items that make you feel “ugh.”

On Blogging:

A Kinder, Smarter, Better Way To Think About Blogging: If you play the comparison game when it comes to blogging, you will never be happy. Sarah Von Bargen outlines how you can change your mindset to think about blogging in a different way. She says, “You’ll like blogging more if you view it as an opportunity maker rather than a money maker.”

On Design:

Breaking Down The Logo Design Process: Take a peek into Mary Catherine Starr’s graphic design process, as she shares exactly how she recently developed a new logo for a client.

This Week on JessicaLawlor.com:

Monthly Check-In: Goodbye April, Hello May: Each monthly check-in, I share three things I accomplished in the previous month and preview three things I’m excited for in the month ahead.

Goals

  • Develop a plan for the next four weeks to prepare to teach my first yoga class. Blog post coming this week about how I plan to do that.
  • Practice teach at least three times this week.
