Start your week right! Every Sunday I post my favorite links from around the web and share my goals for the upcoming week.
On PR and Advertising:
What’s ‘Native Advertising’ All About, Anyway: We’re less than a month into 2013, but the PR world has been abuzz for the last three weeks with the term ‘native advertising.’ This Media Bistro PRNewser article breaks it down.
Don’t Take Any BS: My mentor Jason Mollica, president of JRM Comm and blogger at One Guy’s Journey, writes the next post in his blog series and encourages PR professionals to not take any BS in their life or career.
On Personal Finance:
14 Must-Read Personal Finance Blogs for Young Professionals: Carrie Smith from Careful Cents outlines 14 of the top personal finance blogs young professionals should be reading for Brazen Careerist. I definitely found a few new blogs to add to my Google Reader in this post!
A Behind-The-Scenes Look at the 10 Small Business Tools I Use: I’m always looking for new tools and websites to make my life/work easier, so this post by Natalie Macneil of She Takes On The World caught my eye.
7 Practices That Make You Look Like a Rookie Blogger: Even if you’ve been blogging for years, take a look at this post by Lior Levin for ProBlogger; it has some great tips and reminders to ensure that your blog is as professional and easy to read as can be.
- Create a mini training plan for the 5 mile race I’m running on February 16. I know 5 miles is nothing compared to some of the longer distances I’ve run in the past, but I haven’t run more than 3 miles at a time since November, so I’d like to prepare myself for this race.
- Pack my lunch for work three days this week (I have lunch appointments the other two days). It’s so easy and tempting to hop in my car and pick up lunch, but it’s really draining on my wallet. This week I need to plan ahead and create time either at night or in the morning to pack my lunch.
- Research warm weather long weekend getaway options. This cold weather is taking a toll on me and I’ve been dreaming of the beach. I’d like to take a vacation sometime in late February or early March, so I’d like to start researching some flights and packages. Any ideas?!
