In My Mailbox (46)

In My Mailbox, started by Kristi from The Story Siren is an awesome weekly meme to post what books we’ve received this week; whether it was sent for review from a publisher, purchased at a book store, borrowed from the library, or won from a giveaway.

One of my favorite things about fall is that my local library begins having monthly book sales again! If you didn’t already know, I’m basically obsessed with my library and frequent the monthly book sales quite often. Since this weekend was the first book sale of the season, there were a TON of great books to choose from, but I tried to limit myself to just five this time since I know I’ll be back each month for more!

From the book sale:

Ladies Who Launch: Entrepreneurship  and Creativity as a Lifestyle by Victoria Colligan and Beth Shoenfeldt with Amy Swift: If you saw my blog post on Friday, you’ll know that in November I’m going to be starting a secret project…if this is any kind of hint, I was pumped when I saw this book because I think it will really help me out with my goal.

The Girl Next Door by Elizabeth Noble: I love books told from the perspective of multiple characters, and this book is about many different people living in a NYC apartment building.

Charmed Thirds by Megan McCafferty: Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably read and loved Megan McCafferty’s Jessica Darling series. When I first read the books, I borrowed them from the library, so every time I see one at a book sale, I snap it up. I just need three more books in the series now!

The Sweetness of Salt by Cecilia Galante: I adore books about sisters and this one examines a complicated relationship between two sisters, as one of them is graduating from high school.

The Friday Night Knitting Club by Kate Jacobs: I’ve been eying this book at Barnes and Noble for the past few years, and since I saw it at the book sale for such a great price, I knew I had to finally pick it up.

What’s in your mailbox today?

  1. Great IMM! I’ve only heard of the Jessica Darling series. I need to check it out. Hope you enjoy your new books!

  2. Everyone raves about the Jessica Darling series. I really want to read them! Great finds at the library sale. Libraries are the best. Enjoy your new reads & have a great week!

  3. ooh, i’m tempted to add the sweetness of salt to my wishlist purely due to that irresistible cover!

  4. I’ve heard awesome things about the Friday Night Knitting Club, and your library totally rocks for having those sales!

My IMM is here if you’d like a look 🙂

  5. My library system (for my entire county) does a sale once a year. And this year it was canceled because they are remodeling the main branch of the library, otherwise it would be happening right about now…sad 🙁 I’m hoping it means the sale next year is HUGE!

You did get charmed thirds 🙂 how funny! I bought mine at Goodwill 🙂

  6. Thanks for stopping by my IMM, I wish my library did a monthly book sale, although I think it would be too tempting to buy too many books.

I dont recognise most of you books, although I have heard of Charmed Thirds. Hope you enjoy them all.

  7. These sound like really cute reads! I haven’t read the Jessica Darling books, but I will one day. Happy reading!

Thanks for stopping by my IMM 🙂

  8. I still haven’t read the Jessica Darling series. I keep meaning too, and I always see the books on except… or at least all the books except for the first. But at some point I definitely plan on finally checking them out.

  9. Gah I wish I loved the Jessica Darling series. I’m so sad I didn’t! But I’m glad you’re finding all the copies 🙂 Also, you’re making me hope my library has a sale soon!

  10. Great stuff! My library has an ongoing book sale, so it’s always worth a minute to see what’s new. The Friends also have a HUGE book sale each May. It makes discarding books a little easier, knowing someone else will probably want to add them to their own personal collection!

  11. I haven’t read the Jessica Darling series yet! I keep hearing awesome things about it. I totally need to read them soon. The Sweetness of Salt looks super cute too! I love the title. Ahhh Library sales, love em!
