In My Mailbox, started by Kristi from The Story Siren is an awesome weekly meme to post what books we’ve received this week; whether it was sent for review from a publisher, purchased at a book store, borrowed from the library, or won from a giveaway.
Not too much going on this week- I’m still working my way through my massive TBR shelf…I’m definitely making a nice dent in it though. Even though I just got two books this week, I am SO pumped to try out my very first audiobook! I know some people LOVE them and others HATE them, so it will be interesting to see where I fall!
Always Something There To Remind Me by Beth Harbison (audiobook: Like I mentioned above, this will be my first audiobook experience. I’m pretty excited! I’ve read one other Harbison book and enjoyed it, so I’m hoping I’ll love this one!
From the library:
Effective Immediately: How to Fit In, Stand Out and Move Up at Your First Real Job by Emily Bennington and Skip Lineberg: Even though I’m past my one year mark at work (can’t believe I’ve been in the real world for more than a year!) I’m really into career related book right now, and I’m hoping I’ll still be able to pick up some new tips from this book.
What’s in your mailbox today?
Great stuff this week! Let me know what you think of Effective Immediately–like you I’ve been at my job just over a year, but I figure it would never hurt to figure out how to stand out!
Great mailbox! I really hope you enjoy the audiobook. I love them! 🙂 Enjoy!
I haven’t heard of those 2 – they sound really great though. Happy reading / listening 🙂
I’ve never listened to an audio book. I just don’t think I’d have the patience to do it. Maybe on a long road trip. But even now when driving I can’t stand to have it on the same station for too long, so I don’t really see myself getting into one. But I guess I won’t really know till I actually try it
I’ve never listened to an audiobook — I love holding a book when I read, and I don’t know what I would do with my hands if I listened to an audiobook. Plus, I’m a visual person, so I like seeing the words on the page. Can’t wait to hear about how you felt about your first audiobook experience! 🙂
If you have time, I would love if you checked out my IMM 🙂

I’m one of those few that cannot stand audiobooks, it reminds me of being in school and having someone read to me. I hated it back then too. Can’t wait to see how you enjoy it! I’m envious of those who can listen to them. It would be so handy to be able to listen to books on the go
Hopefully you enjoy the audiobook… I’m one of those people who just can’t get into them, so I’m anxious to see what you think of them.
I’m just starting to get into audiobooks myself. It’s very strange to me – I feel like it’s going to take me forever to finish, since I only listen it to in my car, hah! Anyway, I hope your first experience is awesome 🙂
Great books this week! I’m definitely one who LOVES audiobooks! 🙂 Hope you do too!
I have never tried an audio book before – I keep meaning to but always chicken out.
Speaking of work motivation books, have you read Eat That Frog? I’m a big fan, and was following it… until it got lost in the morass of piles that is my home office. I can’t wait to dig it out and get back to it!
@Elise, No, I haven’t! But I just added it to my list. Thank you! 🙂
I hope that book about jobs as some awesome tips for you! 🙂
