My First Blogoversary

One year ago today, I took the leap and joined the book blogging world. After avidly reading book blog after awesome book blog, I said to myself, “I can do this too!”And thank goodness I did.
A year later, this little blog turns one year old! In these crazy 365 days, I’ve learned a lot and embarked on a journey I never thought possible. In the past year, I’ve:

-Been welcomed into a community of fellow readers and writers, a community of support and friendship; of e-mails, gchats and Twitter conversations; Of random meetings in San Diego.

-Learned about books I probably otherwise never would have heard of if it weren’t for the amazing recommendations of my book blogging friends.

-Read 103 books and wrote 77 book reviews.

Helped a debut author, Kristin Walker, with PR for her novel A Match Made In High School.

-Attempted beginning writing my first novel and crashed and burned during NaNoWriMo. I regained my creativity and motivation back when I took my first creative writing class. I continued to struggle and still do to write and finish that first novel.

-Discovered the world of book sales and thrift stores. I found so many great reads through my local library’s monthly book sales.

-Found several great publishing and writing blogs. My Google Reader and brain were filled with knowledge of the publishing industry and I feel better equipped to continue this journey.

Met my favorite author, Jennifer Weiner.

-Connected with wonderful authors and even interviewed some of my favorites: Kristin Harmel, Eve Marie Mont, Sarah Pekkanen, Marla Martenson and Susane Colasanti.

Happy first blogoversary Cover to Cover! Here’s to another wonderful year of reading, writing and blogging!

Stay tuned tomorrow for my blogoversary contest and giveaway!
