The Carrie Diaries

In honor of Sex and the City 2 coming out this week, I wanted to talk about a book I’m really excited to read: The Carrie Diaries by Candace Bushnell.

I thought the second movie was absolutely fabulous and I love getting lost inside Carries world. Now that I feel like I know the adult Carrie inside and out, I want to find out how she got to where she is today.

The Carrie Diaries chronicles Carrie’s life BEFORE Sex and the City. Can you imagine a teenage Carrie? Can you imagine a Carrie without Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte? Now you can.

With an unforgettable cast of characters, The Carrie Diaries is the story of how a regular girl learns to think for herself and evolves into a sharp, insightful writer. Readers will learn about her family background, how she found her writing voice, and the indelible impression her early friendships and relationships left on her. Through adventures both audacious and poignant, we’ll see what brings Carrie to her beloved New York City, where her new life begins.

This book is already on my summer reading list!

Have you read The Carrie Diaries or do you plan to? Thoughts?

  1. Haven't read it yet but after seeing Sex and the City 2 I definitely feel like I cannot get enough Carrie in my life! I almost bought this at the bookstore last week and now I'm kicking myself for not grabbing it! Next time I hit the store, its definitely going in my cart!
