Book Sneeze

My friend Mindy informed me about this site, Book Sneeze (formerly known as Thomas Nelson).

The idea of the site is that if you have a blog you sign up, choose a book from their available books, they will send you the book and then you have to write a 200 word review.

I’ve never heard of this site, or even of a site like this where you simply agree to write a review and get a free book. Interesting.

I haven’t signed up for this site since my TBR list is already overflowing, but I checked out their “available” books and I only saw about 10. That confused me a bit. When I looked through the reviews, there seemed to be a lot of religious and self-help books.

Have any of you ever used this site or any site like it to review books? Thoughts?

  1. Hi!!! I'm spending my saturday night reading book review sites (trying to save money by staying in although I'm ending up spending money on amazon instead) so thought I'd check out this blog finally! The site you mention sounds great but like you I have way too many books already to be read – which makes the fact I'm buying even MORE right now even sillier . . .

  2. How funny that you posted this now. Yesterday I joined up to Book Sneeze – it was suggested to me by another lovely book blogger who gets books from it.

I can't wait to get my first book – I definitely have a book buying addiction, I hardly ever borrow books, they are all purchased. Even though I only buy second hand books, it all still adds up. So i can't wait for something to arrive.

I also joined up to the early book reviewers thing on Librarything, that seems pretty good too!

  3. Interesting! I like the look of this site but will give it a miss as I have FAR too many books in the TBR pile right now! Seems good though.

  4. I've never heard of it, but it does sound like an interesting idea. I might have to check it out!

  5. I've never heard of this, but I'm on my way there now! You should also check out goodreads.com and librarything.com. They both put up books for free and "ask" that you post a review. I just copy and paste what I put on my blog.

  6. Well, Thomas Nelson is a Christian publishing company. That's probably why all of the books are religious in nature. 🙂

  7. Rather cool blog you've got here. Thanks for it. I like such topics and everything connected to them. I definitely want to read more on that blog soon.
