It’s Monday, What Are You Reading?

It’s Monday, What are you Reading? is a weekly meme hosted by Sheila at One Person’s Journey Through A World Of Books to discuss what we are reading this week, as well as books completed the previous week.

Books I Completed Last Week:

This is SO embarrassing, but last week, I did not finish any books. Yikes 🙁 I was so busy with school and job applications. Sometimes life really does get in the way of fun things like reading. Hopefully my hard work will pay off and I’ll be employed soon.

Books I’m Reading This Week:

Supergirls Speak Out by Liz Funk: I follow Liz on Twitter and I’ve been meaning to read her book forever. This book is about being a “supergirl” or overachiever, and I can definitely relate!

If You Have To Cry Go Outside by Kelly Cutrone: Oh man, I absolutely love PR power girl Kelly Cutrone. Have you seen her show on Bravo? I am already halfway done this book and I cannot put it down!

So, what are you reading this week?

  1. One of my favorite reads in 2009 actually took me over two weeks to read. In my case I was interrupted by work, sleeping, a then-two year old granddaughter who wanted to play barbies with me a lot, and a grandson who wanted me to play cars with him a lot. Plus you have to take time out to eat and do all those other daily activies. You're right – Life does get in the way of reading!

I did start and finishe a book last week, called The Help. It was a great book.

Hope you get to read some next week. 🙂 Hang in there, it'll all be worth it soon!

  2. Darn work, it does have a habit of getting in the way of life. Hope you get back to reading this week, and good luck with the job apps

  3. "Supergirls Speak Out" sounds like a good one. I'll be looking forward to your review. I'm reading a great book on golf that I'm hoping will help improve my game. It's called "Straight Down the Middle". The author is very humorous and the book tends towards more of the spiritual aspect of the game. Very funny.

  4. Life just gets crazy sometimes, I think we all understand. Hopefully this week will slow down a bit and you can read some.

    Have a fabulous reading week!

  5. It sounds like you have a lot of exciting things going on right now. At least, I hope school is exciting 😉

Enjoy your books this week – they both look really good.

  6. If You Have To Cry…. sounds like a great read! I may have to pick it up for one of my next reads. Life definitely gets in the way. I used to be such a HUGE reader, but the last few years has been a struggle. I've gotten back on the reading wagon and find that I'm so much happier reading…go figure?! I'm currently reading The Spark from sparkpeople.com So far, so good! very motivating!
