The Au Pairs: Crazy Hot
Author: Melissa de la Cruz
The Au Pairs: Crazy Hot, the fourth book in the Au Pairs series by Melissa de la Cruz tells the story of best friends Eliza, Jacqui and Mara and their fourth summer in the Hamptons.
Now, this book is usually the type of book I reserve for reading at the beach, but I saw it at my library and realized I hadn’t read it yet, so I grabbed it up. It may be November, but this book made me feel like I was sitting on a beach chair with the sand in my toes and a drink in hand.
This summer, Eliza is opening a boutique. Jacqui and Mara are both au-pairing, but Jacqui becomes a model for Eliza’s clothing line. Mara starts a blog chronicling her time as a Hamptons au pair.
All three girls are a little more grown up this year and definitely easy to relate to. I loved Eliza’s story line with her boyfriend and her shop. I haven’t liked Eliza much in the past three books, but I loved her in this one. Jacqui is still the same old Jacqui to me. However, Mara, who used to be my favorite down to earth character, is almost not likeable at all in this installment. I was annoyed by her and her attitude almost the entire book.
I especially enjoyed all of the love story lines in this book. Wait until you read about Mara’s boyfriend David…the drama that ensues in that line is definitely worth reading. Jacqui, once again, falls for a boy who couldn’t care less and Eliza and Jeremy get into an interesting little situation of their own.
A quick, fun and easy read to get you out of those winter blues!
